The Name – STATT
On the map it says Stad. Along the coast, people say Statt. Stadhavet is one of the most demanding stretches of sea in Norway. Here, currents, weather and seabed conditions meet in ways that test both people and boats.
The name has roots in Old Norse, staðr, meaning “that which stands”. A place where you waited. A place where you respected the forces around you.
